SHOOTING / ARMED HOUSE INVASION – SUNSET DRIVE – NOOITGEDACHT
On Saturday night we received a report that a resident in Sunset Drive was shot in his stomach by a gang. Our teams reacted and our control centre called for back-up from Westrand Flying Squad.
On arrival the resident’s friends reported that they were inside the house with the safety gate closed when suspects started shooting at them from the outside. The suspects then gained entry into the house and fled with numerous items.
The teams started hunting and caught up with the gang in a veld. The suspects opened fire on the teams and they returned fire. The suspects dropped all the loot except for one cell phone.
They disappeared into the dense bush and the teams looked for them for hours. The victim was taken to hospital by his friends. A report was received that he is in a stable condition and will make a full recovery.
Please remain super vigilant until they are arrested. This incident just showed that they are brazen enough to shoot at not only our teams but at the police as well. We will shoot back and fight fire with fire.
