A woman was shot and wounded outside a popular bar on a smallholding in Pretoria North on Friday.
Police spokesperson Captain Rheineth Motlana said three men shot the 50-year-old woman around 01:00am.
This apparently happened when the woman went to lock the entrance gate.
“The victim was waiting for her worker to close the gate when three unknown males came running from the bushes and pointed a firearm at her. She started to drive off, but was shot in the body.”
The woman was taken to a hospital.
Amandasig CPF spokesperson Erich Landsberg said the shooting happened outside the Blou Bul Ranch in Berg Avenue.
A shocked neighbour who wanted to remain anonymous told Rekord that she heard the gunshots as she was reading in bed.
“I asked my husband to turn off the lights. When I looked through the curtains of my window I could see the men and it looked like they were fighting about something.”
She phoned the police and they arrived about 30 minutes later.
She said this was not the first time she noticed strange activities in the area.
“About a month ago I saw five guys walking around up and down the street. It looked like they were stealing. They wore hats and balaclavas and were carrying plastic bags.
Motlane said police were investigating.
