VIDEO: Man hospitalised after 'hit and run' in Lenasia

JOHANNESBURG - Video footage of an alleged hit and run accident has emerged on social media.
The video was posted on Arrive Alive's website and shows a four pedestrians walking on a road before a car knocks a male pedestrian at high speed without stopping.
The incident occured in the early hours of Saturday morning at Lenasia Extension 1 on Sunbird Avenue.
Lenasia spokesperson Captain Hector Netshivhodza said he understands, from the charges laid, that the pedestrians had been offered a lift, but had declined.
"The pedestrian who was knocked down was coming from a tavern at about 3am with friends when the driver of a red Corsa hit him," Netshivhodza said.
"He was taken to hospital in a serious condition."
Police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving.
