A motorist traveling toward the M1, travelling towards Pretoria, opposite Killarney Mall has been assaulted and his passenger shot on the night of 13 May, according to Hillbrow police spokesperson Constable Mduduzi Zondo.
“The motorist was allegedly followed by two car’s, one a bakkie and the other a sedan. At around 8.30pm the motorist was blocked with one of the cars behind him and the one in front of him,” Zondo explained.
He added that about five suspects then emerged from the two cars and allegedly demanded money from the motorist and then began assaulting the motorist through the window of his car. “It was at this time that one of the suspects pulled out his rifle and then shot the motorist’s passenger on his upper body.”
Zondo further explained that upon shooting the passenger the suspects fled the scene with no valuables or money from the assaulted motorist.
“A case of attempted murder is being investigated by Hillbrow police, should anyone have anyone have any information pertaining g to the case, they are urged to contact us,” said Zondo.
