A Sunward Park family experienced a terrifying ordeal when an intruder broke into their house and stole goods worth R70 000 on Friday, April 1

The robber then left the scene with valuable goods, including a TV set, laptop, digital camera and a cellphone.

The thug reportedly fled the scene in a blue Toyota Yaris, and was nowhere to be found by the time police officers arrived.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during the terrifying home invasion.

Police are investigating a case of house robbery, and no arrest has been made as yet.

There have been a number of break-ins in the suburb of late, and many victims recently told this publication that they were on edge, fearing armed intruders may strike again.

* In another story, two men, described as coloured males, robbed a business at the corner of Commissioner and Pretoria streets, on Friday night, April 1.

According to a police report, the pair entered the shop and posed as customers, before they robbed the cashier of an undisclosed amount of cash.
