A man believed to be in his early thirties was shot and killed in Cato Manor in the early hours of this morning.
A young man, believed to be in his early thirties, was shot and killed during the early hours of this morning in Bellair Drive, Cato Manor.
According to ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak, shortly before 2am paramedics from ER24 and EMRS found the man lying in the middle of the road. “Local EMRS paramedics were already busy treating the man for apparent gunshot wounds to his head. ER24 paramedics assisted with the resuscitation. Sadly, despite the efforts of the paramedics there was nothing more that they could do and he was later declared dead on the scene,” he said.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet clear, however it is alleged that the man was shot in an attempted hijacking. The driver of a vehicle found on the scene was assessed by paramedics and found to have sustained no injuries. The incident was handed over to local police for further investigation.
