#ATTACK: Shot man (37) drives himself to Westville police station

Man shot in drive-by shooting in Westville...


A 37-YEAR-old man was shot in Westville on Tuesday evening.

Capt Elizabeth Squires, communications officer at Westville SAPS, confirmed the incident as domestic related and said the victim was shot in a drive-by shooting.

According to Russel Meiring, spokesman for ER24, paramedics were called to the Westville SAPS after the man drove himself to the police station. He suffered a bullet wound to his back and one of the police officers was treating him when paramedics arrived. The man was then taken to RK Khan Hospital.

“A case of attempted murder has been opened and is currently being investigated by our detectives,” said Squires.

A man was left seriously injured yesterday evening after a shooting incident in Westville. ER24 paramedics were called to the Westville SAPS after the patient drove himself there. On arrival, paramedics found the patient being treated by one of the police officers. Assessments showed that the patient had sustained an apparent bullet wound to his back. The patient was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions. He was thereafter transported to RK Khan for urgent treatment. Local authorities will be investigating further.
