“Krugersdorp police are investigating a case of house robbery and murder at Pannall Street in Mindalore,” police spokesperson, Tshepiso Mashale, said.
On Monday evening at around 11.50pm, suspects broke a window in the Van der Westhuizen’s dining room to gain entry into the house where Casper and his wife, Isabella, were asleep.
“They then went to the bedroom where they allegedly shot the husband in his upper body and he died on the scene. According to witnesses, the suspects sped off in a black Audi,” she said.
Krugersdorp police are appealing to the community to assist with information that might help trace and arrest the suspects involved in the death of Casper. Call the Crime Stop Tip off line on 08600 10111 or Krugersdorp police on 011 951 1151/2.
The police did not make the number of suspects clear, but neighbours told the News that they saw a group of possibly four men get into the vehicle.
The News has learned that an alleged attempted armed robbery also took place in Witpoortjie, Roodepoort last night, also involving a black Audi.
