What South African Airways (SAA) doesn't want you to see....

■ SAA Memo Leaked!

On Tuesday SAA made headlines because of it’s belated attempt to muzzle the media surrounding articles published discussing a leaked internal memo from SAA. As the court documents indicate, contents of the memo are supposedly “privileged” and “highly confidential”.
Media24, the owner of Fin24 and City Press, on Tuesday gave notice to SAA lawyers that it would fight an interim High Court order gagging it from publishing the contents of a leaked memo dated 6 November 2015 to the SAA board from former acting CEO Thuli Mpshe. Media24 is of the opinion that the order should never have been granted for lack of proper notice and substance among other things. It also believes that the information contained in the memo is of great public interest.
Famously, the interdict was too late to stop Business Day newspaper from publishing the article in its print edition on Tuesday morning, and we were able to share the contents of that article with you here.
The document was an internal memo prepared by the head of legal, risk and compliance at SAA, Ursula Fikelepi, to the board of the airline. Scatzy has obtained a copy which we have decided to publish so that the public at large could make up their own minds on the matter:

■ UPDATE: In the early hours of this morning, Business Day received a court order instructing them to remove their lead story from their front page and delete it from the web. All online articles have since been removed, but it was too late to stop the physical print run!
Thanks to friends in South Africa we managed to get hold of a snapshot of the article which we have shared with you below. Read it and decide for yourself whether or not it was in the public interest to publish this and whether or not SAA was justified in its (late) attempts to censor it.
