#ATTACK: Kidnapped Afrikaner girl (9) escapes after biting black attacker

She was found in a nearby street two hours after being kidnapped

A nine-year-old girl manged to escape from her alleged kidnapper after she was taken outside her school in Northcliff, Johannesburg, yesterday.
Fairland police spokesperson Constable Michael Kgatla said the girl was on her own in a street outside the school when an unknown man approached her and took her away. Northcliff Melville Times reported.
Kgatla said the girl alleged the suspect offered her some pills thought to be drugs, which she refused. The girl then bit the suspect and managed to run away.
“Two hours later, a woman found the girl crying in a nearby street and took her back to her school. The girl’s parents reported the incident at the Fairland police station. A case of kidnapping was opened and no arrest has been made,” he said.
“We are investigating the incident and hopefully a suspect can be found with the help of the community,” Kgatla added.
“People must be careful,” he said. “They must look after their kids. Little girls must not be left running around alone outside school. They can be targeted.”
He encouraged residents who knew anything about the incident to contact the Fairland police on 011-478-9413/4/5.
This comes after a seemingly growing trend of baby kidnappings in the Pretoria CBD recently.
Early this month, an eight-week-old baby girl was almost taken from her mother in the Woolworths at Castle Walk shopping centre in Elardus Park, east of Pretoria.
The baby’s mother, Zoë Burger, noticed a man and woman following them around the store.
“The woman kept looking at my baby. There was a time when I was at the ice cream fridge and the woman stood near the pram and looked inside,” Burger said.
“I saw her and said ‘excuse me’, and bumped her with the pram and walked away,” added Burger.
