Man saved by misfire
A DUD bullet or a firearm jam probably saved the life of a Kokstad man (43).
The man was on holiday with his family at Glenmore on Tuesday last week when two men forced open a burglar gate and door at the Silver Lane house at about 4am.
The man, his wife and two children woke up to find two tall men looming over them in the bedroom.
The father was forced to sit on the floor, one man pointing a gun at his head while the other ransacked the house. The man heard the man cock the gun and pull the trigger. Nothing happened.
According to Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka, the gunman kept shouting and was obviously intent on firing his weapon. “However, when it failed to go off, they left with a laptop, wallet and bank cards,” he added. http://southcoastherald.co.za/114734/man-saved-by-dud-bullet/
