Yet another child from Elarduspark was almost taken from her mother on Thursday afternoon.

Rekord over the past few weeks has reported on four other children that were almost kidnapped at shopping centres in Pretoria.

Zoë Burger and her eight-week-old daughter Ila were at Castle Walk shopping centre’s Woolworths when she noticed a man and woman following them around in the store.

“The woman kept looking at my baby. There was a time when I was at the ice cream fridge and the woman stood near the pram and looked inside. I saw her and ‘said excuse me’ and bumped her with the pram and walked away,” said Burger.

She said from that moment she felt very uncomfortable and went to the cash tills to pay. While there she noticed the man and woman in the same queue as her but they were about three people away from her.

“When I noticed them, I asked the woman who was helping me pack the groceries in plastic bags to help me carry the bags to the car,” she said.

“When we walked out I noticed the two were no longer in the queue. Outside the store I saw the man and woman and I showed the woman walking with me that those are the two people who were following me around in the store.”

Burger said the man and woman then walked up to her and she pushed Ila’s pram between her car and a kerb. The woman said she wanted Burger’s baby. She said she asked her what she said and the woman repeated that she wants her baby. She said there was another woman with them who walked into the store and came out quickly and waited in a car parked next to Burger’s vehicle.

“At that moment I screamed at the security guard and the two got into the car parked next to me. The woman from Woolworths then said we should go back into the store for about 10 minutes so the people can leave,” explained Burger.

“It was weird that they parked next to me. I was made to realise that maybe they have been following me to the store,” Burger said.

Before going to the centre, Burger was at the pediatrician at Pretoria East hospital.

A Woolworths staff member confirmed to Rekord that a woman with a baby did complain to one of their staff members that she was being followed inside the store.

“Our staff member did indeed walk with the woman to the car. They then came back inside the store later, while they waited for the people she said were following her to leave,” she said.

The staff member said Burger can come view the CCTV footage from inside the store.

Burger is going to get the CCTV footage and then take it to the police station.

The centre management could not be reached for comment.

Burger said the woman was wearing grey leggings with a leopard spot top and slippers, the man was wearing blue chinos and a blue and white scotch shirt and the third woman was wearing a brownish dress. http://rekordeast.co.za/70469/eight-week-old-baby-almost-taken-from-mother/#.VjzKjWBFJnY.facebook
