Malema in ‘war’ call
EFF leader says NMMU students should rise against those protecting white privilege
JULIUS Malema has called on Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) students to declare war on those who protect white privilege, saying it is time for black people to rise and remove the noose from their necks.
In a passionate address, which drew more than 2 000 students at NMMU’s south campus yesterday, the EFF leader said the white minority did not want to see black students succeed, making it difficult for them at every turn.
Malema, who received a hero’s welcome, was campaigning at the university ahead of today’s SRC elections.
Meanwhile, Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba addressed a packed north campus auditorium last night in support of the ANC’s student organisation, Sasco.
