How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Rom6: 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin...

Romans Chapter 7 – Paul was talking about the Law not Marriage...

Romans 7:2, PAUL IS NOT TALKING ABOUT MARRIAGE AND ITS RULES…..HE'S MAKING A POINT ABOUT THE LAW!

Paul refers to the general principle in Romans 7:2-3 that marriage is binding until death. He is using the analogy of marriage to show that we were bound to the law all our days as a woman is her husband. AGAIN it's NOT about marriage …Paul isn’t laying out the rules of marriage there.

Paul was using an exact analogy. Death=freedom from marriage, Christ=freedom from the the law [TORAH].

In Rom. 7:2-3 the Law clearly states that marriage is until death. There must be a death for a “marriage” to take place. This verse relates our position in regard to the Law. PAUL IS MAKING THE POINT THAT ONE CANNOT BE JOINED WITH CHRIST IF THEY ARE MARRIED TO THE LAW [TORAH].

Verse 4; is speaking about us being joined TO CHRIST, THAT WE MAY BE MARRIED TO ANOTHER!

DEAD TO TORAH MARRIED TO CHRIST!

For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision (baptism) anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation (Christlike character = Labour and deeds of sacrificial LOVE for all people as  #Gal5verse22to23 even for my enemies #Matt5verse43to46 that is done via the Holy Spirit through our flesh to make us ChristLike in character  = #ScarOfService  = #ZealOfChrist). From now on, let no one cause me any trouble, for I bear already the
☛marks (scar of service/Character)☚ of the Lord Jesus branded on my body.
Galatians 6:15‭, ‬17

πŸ’› 》》#marks: the Greek translation is: stigma (G4742): scar of service: - mark

Stigmatical
STIGMATIC, STIGMATICAL adjective

1. Marked with a stigma, or with something reproachful to
☛☛character☚☚

We are created after the likeness (characteristics that reflects God's image) of the eternal God. We are to reflect His Christlike character as per #Gal5verse22to23

Rom. 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin
8  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10  For in that he died, he died unto #sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto #sin (, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12  Let not #sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof
13  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of #unrighteousness unto #sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of #righteousness unto God.
14  For #sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law (of Moses), but under #grace.

Before believing in Jesus, sin enslaves people. God frees Christians from serving sin. They are able to choose to serve Christ in their lives. Paul explains that when Christians choose to sin, they willingly choose to sin.

The term "sin" refers to actions, thoughts, and words that are against God's will and laws. Sin can also refer to not doing something that God wants us to do.
  • Sin includes anything we do that does not obey or please God, even things that other people don't know about.
  • Thoughts and actions that disobey God's will are called "sinful."
  • Because Adam sinned, all human beings are born with a "sinful nature," a nature that that controls them and causes them to sin.
  • A "sinner" is someone who sins, so every human being is a sinner.
  • The term "sin" could be translated with a word or phrase that means "disobedience to God" or "going against God's will" or "evil behavior and thoughts" or "wrongdoing."
  • To "sin" could also be translated as to "disobey God" or to "do wrong."
  • Depending on the context "sinful" could be translated as "full of wrongdoing" or "wicked" or "immoral" or "evil" or "rebelling against God."
  • Depending on the context the term "sinner" could be translated with a word or phrase that means, "person who sins" or "person who does wrong things" or "person who disobeys God" or "person who disobeys the law."
  • The term "sinners" could be translated by a word or phrase that means "very sinful people" or "people considered to be very sinful" or "immoral people."
  • In expressions like "slaves to sin" or "ruled by sin," the term "sin" could be translated as "disobedience" or "evil desires and actions."

What is sin in the New Testament?

πŸ’› 》》#sin: the Greek translation is: #hamartia (G266): meaning:
to wander from the law of God, to miss or wander from the path of uprightness and honour, to do or go wrong, that which is done wrong, sin, an offence, a violation of the divine law in thought or in act, violate God's law.   What is the commandments of Jesus because we are no longer in bondage under Jewish OLD TESTAMENT law (of Moses / Torah / 1st five books of the bible ) and customs including war in the flesh (which is the harlot in Revelation / adulterous wife of God)

Hebrews 9:15 Therefore,
☛Jesus is the #mediator of a NEW COVENANT ( 2nd Covenant / New commandment in the New Testament #John13verse34to35; #John15verse17; #Matt5verse43to46; #1John3verse23; Matt. Chapter 5 to 7)☚, so that those who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance, because ☛☛His death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the 1st covenant (#LawOfMoses / first 5 books in Old Testament)☚☚

John 13:34‭-‬35  “I JESUS give you a NEW COMMAND (2nd Covenant / NEW COVENANT): Love one another. Just ☛as (in the same way) I have loved you, you are also to love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples (Christians), if you love one another.”

1 John 3:23 Now this is His command (2nd Covenant):
~》that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ,
~》and that we love one another as Jesus commanded us (just before He was arrested to be crucified at the last supper He said ...A NEW COMMAND (2nd Covenant / New Covenant) #John13verse34to35 Love one another as (exactly the same way) Jesus loved people (as per #Gal5verse22to23) including enemies #Matt5verse43to46 that is done by the Holy Spirit (God in us) through our flesh cause our deeds do follow us Rev14:13

Matthew 5:43‭-‬45 “You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.  But I JESUS tell (COMMAND) you, love your enemies  and pray for those who persecute you,  so that you may be children of your Father in heaven

Hebrews 10:26‭-‬27‭, ‬29‭-‬38 For if we deliberately go on sinning (under the 2nd Covenant / New Covenant / New Commandment TO LOVE PEOPLE EVEN OUR ENEMIES) after receiving the knowledge of the truth, ☛☛there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins☚☚,  but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire (hell) about to consume the adversaries.  How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, who has regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which He was sanctified, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?  For we know the One who has said,  Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge His people.  It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.  Remember the earlier days when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings.  Sometimes you were publicly exposed to taunts and afflictions, and at other times you were companions of those who were treated that way.  For you sympathized with the prisoners and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, because you know that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession.  So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.  For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised.  For yet in a very little while,  the Coming One will come and not delay.   But my righteous one   will live by faith;  and if he draws back,  I have no pleasure   in him.

Galatians 4:24-31 These things are being taken figuratively, for the women represent
☛☛2 covenants☚☚. One (1st Covenant #LawOfMoses) is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery — this is Hagar (#LawOfMoses = adulterous wife of God). Now Hagar represents Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present #Jerusalem, for she is in #slavery with her children. But the #Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother (2nd Covenant / #LawOfLove done by HOLY SPIRIT). For it is written,  Rejoice, childless woman,   unable to give birth.  Burst into song and shout,  you who are not in labor,  for the children of the desolate woman will be many,  more numerous than those  of the woman who has a husband.    Now you too, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.  But just as then the child born as a result of the flesh persecuted the one born as a result of the Spirit, so also now.  But what does the Scripture say? “Drive out the slave and her son, for the son of the slave will never be a coheir with the son of the free woman.”  Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of a slave but of the free woman.

Revelation 14:13  Then I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so they will rest from their labors, since their works follow them.”

REVELATION 22:14 Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) are those who wash their robes [in the blood of Christ by believing and trusting in Him, they the saints the righteous who do the commandments of JESUS in the 2nd Covenant only written in the Good News which is the New Testament / #LawOfLove: #John13verse34to35; #John15verse17; #Matt5verse43to46; #1John3verse23; Matt. Chapter 5 to 7], so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.

The #FruitOfTheSpirit written in #Gal5verse22to23 is an barometer for measuring how closely you are walking with God or how far you are from God.

Throughout Galatians, Paul makes a case, that the message he preached when he founded their churches is no longer central to their beliefs. The Christians had begun to believe that it was through the law of Moses they were saved, not by grace (Grace: one who is filled and governed with the Spirit and the token of proof and it's reflection in life as per #Gal5verse22to23).

Paul makes this argument most poignantly in Galatians 2:15-21: We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law (of Moses), but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law (of Moses): for by the works of the law (of Moses) shall no flesh be justified.  But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.  For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.  ☛For I through the law (of Moses) am dead to the law (of Moses)☚, that I might live unto God.  ☛ I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in
me☚: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.  I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law (of Moses), then Christ is dead in vain.

Read again...."I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me."
Now if Jesus Spirit lives in me and not I, because ☛I die daily to self☚, then my body will represent Jesus character as written in #Gal5verse22to23

Paul is not teaching about the Fruit of the Spirit on a whim, but rather as a discipleship point to help people see if they are living a life marked by God (#ChristLike character) or by the flesh and sin.

He was trying to show the people of Galatia that it’s not through the law they were saved, but through the work of Jesus Christ, and the mark of a believer in Christ is the Fruit of the Spirit.

The #FruitOfTheSpirit falls in is Paul’s description of freedom in Christ through the Spirit
Gal.5:1-6:10: [Freedom in Christ] For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm then and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery (#LawOfMoses and Jewish rituals).  Take note! I, Paul, am telling you that if you get yourselves circumcised, Christ will not benefit you at all. Again I testify to every man who gets himself circumcised that he is obligated to do the entire law (of Moses). ☛☛You who are trying to be justified (vindicated, freed, justify, acquitted, justifier, justifies, just, righteous, righteousness, justice, cleansed, acquit) are alienated from
Christ; you have fallen from grace☚☚.  ☛☛For we eagerly await through the Spirit, by faith, the hope of righteousness☚☚. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything;
☛☛what matters is faith working through love [deeds and labour of #SacrificialLOVE for all people as per #Gal5verse22to23 even for our enemies #Matt5verse43to46 that is done via the Holy Spirit through our flesh to make us ChristLike in character ~》#ScarOfService ~》#ZealOfChrist)☚☚.  You were running well. Who prevented you from being persuaded regarding the truth?  This persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.  A little leaven leavens the whole batch of dough. I myself am persuaded in the Lord you will not accept any other view. But whoever it is that is confusing you (#FalseTeachers) will pay the penalty.

And even more specific, the subcategory of this section is the law of Christ (#LawOfFaith)
Gal.5:13 - 6:10: For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. ☛☛For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as
yourself☚☚.  But if you bite and devour one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.  I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want.  ☛☛But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law (of Moses)☚☚.  Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity,  idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,  envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I am warning you about these things — as I warned you before — that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.  ☛☛Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires☚☚.  If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Brothers and sisters, if someone is overtaken in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual, restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so that you also won’t be tempted.  Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.  For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Let each person examine his own work, and then he can take pride in himself alone, and not compare himself with someone else. For each person will have to carry his own load.  Let the one who is taught the word share all his good things with the teacher. Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows he will also reap, because the one who sows to his flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.
