CAPE TOWN - Police have fired stun grenades at members of the ANC Youth League protesting outside the South African Rugby Union (Saru) offices in Cape Town.
About 100 youth league supporters gathered outside the Saru offices in Plattekloof.

As protesters approached the entrance police fired stun grenades to disperse them.
The youth league is demanding that the transformation of rugby be fast-tracked and have threatened to disrupt all major rugby games if this does not happen.

The End Racism picket comes after Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula banned four sporting codes, including rugby, from bidding to host international tournaments because they have failed to meet transformation targets.
