A Dinwidde woman was murdered on Thursday in her home.
A woman has been brutally murdered in Dinwiddie.
A Dinwiddie family is reeling after the brutal murder of a family member on Thursday.
The woman was stabbed in the stomach and had both her ears and her nose cut off.
Her left eye was also cut out.
Capt Geroge Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS, said: “The woman’s daughter and son-in-law left the house at about 8am that morning and when they returned at about 5pm they found her dead.
“It is suspected that the man they had picked up at the corner to do work in their home is the murderer as he has subsequently disappeared.”
As the woman was found half naked the police are also investigating the possibility of her being raped.
Raphulu said that it appears nothing had been taken from the house and the motive for the murder was unknown.
No arrests have been made as yet and police continue with their investigation.
