Sat-19-Mar-16 Land invasion opposite Dunoon on Green Acres farm. Thousands of people started marking off plots of land with some being bussed in by taxi's. Authorities battle to remove illegal land invaders near Du Noon:
CAPE TOWN – The City of Cape Town's anti-land invasion unit is trying to prevent hundreds of people from illegally settling on a piece of land near Du Noon.
The group had already set up pegs marking plots on the property along the N7 this morning but they were removed by the unit.
No structures have been erected as yet.
The city's JP Smith said, “The situation is under control and some of our staff have withdrawn to regroup with the Saps.”
A motorists explains what he saw when he drove past the scene.
