The incident occurred across the road from the Gautrain station - this was never disputed - we never said it occurred inside the station

Gautrain responds to viral graphic images of woman’s attack

The Gautrain confirmed that the allegations of a brutal stabbing attack at one of their stations was false.

The Gautrain confirmed that the alleged brutal stabbing of a woman did not happen at their train station.
This after graphic images of a woman with a slashed arm shocked social media when they went viral on Monday.
“Woman attacked by thugs with a knife at Centurion Gautrain Station, while people sat on the pavement and just watched. Had to have emergency surgery at hospital. After the recent spate of incidents, we advise against using the Gautrain Station,” read the caption on Facebook.


Gautrain spokesperson Kesagee Nayagere, said the alleged attack did not happen at their station.
“I can confirm that the alleged attack making the rounds via social media did not happen at the Gautrain Centurion Station.”
Lyttelton police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu could not confirm the incident.
“Nothing was reported to us.”
The same images were also found on a Wikipedia page about South African farm attacks.
