Pietersburg – Jacques Voster was rushed to the Pietersburg provincial hospital after being shot in the face while robbers tried to get into the house he was sharing with his mother and two brothers in the Upsala camping terrain at the Doornkraal Feesterrein.
According to the older brother, Juan his mother Christa Momberg said she had trouble falling asleep and was staring at the window when she heard a sound outside the window.
“When she saw three men at the window, she screamed. We immediately tried to open the door and to stop the men.
“One man was holding on to the door which prevented us from leaving the house.”
“I saw Jacques moving towards the window… they hit him in the face with the pistol.
He was lucky and I thank God that he is not killed. He has been speaking to us and we are glad that despite his wounds it looks like he will make a full recovery,” says Christa Momberg while on her way back to he hospital.
Westenburg police spokesperson capt Mohlaka Mashiane said that a case of attempted murder is being investigated. ‘There have not been any arrests made yet.’
