Tensions continue to build in Cape Town EFF supporters are breaking up benches into planks and have clashed with ANCYL members.
But you wouldn't know any of it if you were inside the parliamentary precinct where bands are playing while MPs walk the red carpet.
Pro-Zuma supporters say anti-Zuma protesters and police are undermining them after the brief altercation.
Reporter Jenni Evans tells us: The contrast could not be starker. BMW, Mercs and SUVS are gliding thought the 100 Plein Street gates and magnificently dressed people are being guided helped out by the protocol team. The red carpet is down, a djembe drummer and singer are heard over the speaker. But you know there is a different picture in town. It really is quite unsettling.
And in a nearby street, Tammy Petersen says: ANCYL came through St Georges Mall and had confrontation with EFF protesting peacefully in Church Street. Then confrontation ensued, says a businessman. EFF members are now walking through St George's Mall, some armed with poles and sticks.
