According to corporate communications officer of Malvern SAPS, W/O Radhika Marimuthu, the father was pushed to the ground and the suspects opened fire on him.
The two minor children ran off towards the house looking for a place to hide. “The suspects then left after firing several shots. The children then jumped over the wall and ran to the neighbour for help. The neighbour summoned the police and the paramedics,” she said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment where he remains critical. A case of attempted murder has been registered and investigations are continuing.
