Waterval Boven protesters torch municipal buildings
Residents of Waterval Boven, in Mpumalnga, are up in arms. They're protesting against the Emakhazeni municipality for failure to deliver clean drinking water, as well as proper roads in the town. They also claim that police allegedly shot and killed a 22 year old protester. The protest began two weeks ago. On Thursday residents torched a municipal vehicle, the fire station and the community hall. Municipal buildings are still on fire after being set alight Thursday morning.
Residents are demanding to see the mayor.
