SERIOUS INCIDENT: 01/01/2016 at approximately 09:00.
RAPE / WITWATERSRAND / STRUBENSVALLEY
A SRT Security Response Vehicle patrolled Witwatersrand Ave, Strubensvalley. The Officer noticed a shocked white female with a African male walking with her in the veld. The Response Officer approached them and noticed that the woman's trousers were opened. She was shocked and not comprehensive. He noticed the suspect had a black pair of scissors in his hand. A member of he public assisted our Officer and said he should call the police. The African male then made a run for it. Our Response Officer chased after him but lost him in the reeds close to Christiaan de Wet Ave. Two other SRT Response vehicles gave assistance but could not find the suspect.
The woman was taken to the SRT Offices. SRT called the Emergency Services for assistance. Honeydew SAPS, ER24 and the Roodepoort Fire Department gave excellent support.
The rape victim was transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for urgent treatment. SRT Security contacted the victim's family who will assist her.
Please assist SRT and the SAPS in finding the suspect as shown in the video clip.
