The friend, who agreed to speak to the News on condition of his identity being withheld, described the couple as hardworking and the incident as truly tragic.
The Meyer couple was found murdered in their house in Noordheuwel.
Peter was described as a fantastic friend who had built up his successful printing business from the ground.
“It is the neatest, tidiest print shop in Johannesburg – you can eat off the floor. That’s what made them so successful; all the hard work they have put into the business. The business was like their baby,” the friend said.
On Friday night 27 November the couple were found in their home, face down in a pool of blood.
Rumours have surfaced on Facebook claiming that one of their business deals had gone wrong, resulting in their killing.
