Emily Corke, Eye Witness News journalist, reports from Johannesburg: 13 May 2016 - The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) says it’s investigating a (black) Witbank police officer after he posted on Facebook that he “normally suffocates racists with a refuse bag before locking them up in a holding cell”. IPID says it received the complaint after it emerged the officer also wrote that 'he took dockets home, so the racists could only be released if they go to court. "
The officer has 'denied he wrote the post, claiming it was one of his family members'. IPID’s Robbie Raburabu says the Human Rights Commission is also investigating the incident. “This is as a result of the racist remarks that were made on social media previously.
