SANDF bankrupt. About to close its doors in South Africa...

There was a time when the South African Defence Force SADF was the strongest army on the continent and one of the five best in the world. For 23 years they held out the Communist forces of FAPLA, PLAN, Cuba, Russia and East Germany.

Then the ANC came to power and transformed the once proud SADF into the SANDF with terrorists from MK, APLA and SWAPO joining. The new SANDF was tested in September 1998, when they lost 11 members during Operation Boleas, an attempt at quelling a mutiny in Maseru, Lesotho. In basic terms...the SANDF, together with the Botswana Defence Force got their arses kicked by tiny Lesotho.

Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has warned that the military could be forced to close shop if budget cuts, now sitting at R5.5 billion, continue.

Yes, why spend R5.5 billion on the army when the ANC can steal and pocket it for itself. Where must the R4 billion come from for Jacob Zuma’s new plane?

Personally I don’t care if the SANDF goes bang...in the near future it might just prove a blessing in disguise.
