#FarmAttack: Family attacked & tied up by five armed black attackers on a plot in the Seaview area on Monday morning

Port Elizabeth police have arrested two suspects following a robbery on a plot in the Seaview area on Monday morning.Police said a businessman who works from home was confronted by five men wearing blue overalls, reflector jackets and gloves.



Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, said two men with guns tied up the homeowner and his wife who told them that her baby was in the car.He said the robbers got the child from the car before they ordered the businessman to open up his safe.


"They took a substantial amount of money out of the safe," Labans said.He said the robbers then went to the workshop on the property and tied up all the workers, taking seven cellphones before fleeing in the businessman's VW Amarok.Labans said members of the Flying Squad came across some members of the fleeing gang in a mini-bus in Cape Road where two people were arrested and a firearm recovered.

A second vehicle used in the robbery, a Colt Bakkie, was found abandoned in Mission Road while Kabega Park police recovered the businessman's stolen 4x4 at the Kuyga sports grounds."All of the stolen goods were recovered," Labans said.

He added that police were still searching for the remaining robbery gang members.
