Petrolbombed: R100million Sanlam auditorium at "Kingway campus" near Westdene burnt down: 2am 16 May 2016 -

This was the auditorium for the former Rand Afrikaans University which was transformed to a satellite campus for the English-language Johannesburg University.

Two days earlier, some 20 black students from a student commune in Ararat Street in adjacent Westdene - just twee blocks away from the torched auditorium, had raged in their street and screamed anti-white hate speech against a Dutch university chemistry-professor and his wife who both work at the University of Johannesburg. The black students and their friends were screaming vicious hatespeech - as can be heard on the youtube vide, because the couple had asked the students to turn down their loud music. (picture)

The police claim they 'have no suspects' for the petrol-bombing two blocks away, only two days later but said a petrol-bomb had also been found a few days before the auditorium was torched.

Letlape said no-one was injured. The he fire destroyed over 1 000 seats, as well as computer labs housing equipment used to conduct career assessment and guidance for
