The body of a 67-year-old man was found late last night in a car by police during a routine patrol in Krugersdorp North, police said.

The News understands the victim, who was identified by a family member, was found inside the boot of a “suspicious” parked car at around 11pm yesterday (10 May).

According to a source at the Roodepoort Forensic Pathology Services, the body was found in Premier Street in Krugersdorp North and it appeared that the man had possibly been murdered.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, said the man’s body was discovered wrapped in plastic with an open wound in his head.

“Police are investigating a case of murder and appealing to the community that can assist with information that might lead to the arrest of the suspects involved in this horrible act,” she said.
