ARMED HOUSE ROBBERY / SHOOTING – JAVA ROAD - NOOITGEDACHT - 8 SUSPECTS
During the early hours of Saturday morning we received an urgent call for assistance to a smallholding in Java Road. The owner of the property reported shots being fired.
The Iron Fist Squad accompanied by our Specialised Investigation Unit as well as Tactical Units responded to the call. On arrival it was found that about eight suspects were involved in the incident.
Four suspects broke into a cottage (tenant was not home) while another four suspects attacked another cottage on the same property by firing shots through the window.
Thank goodness they did not manage to gain access into the cottage as the tenant and his family were inside. They made off with the loot from the cottage they broke into.
Various spent casings were found on the outside. The area was searched by not only our teams but also members from the community, police and other security companies to no avail.
