#ATTACK: German tourists survive attack at knifepoint in Wilderness

GEORGE NEWS FLASH - A German couple was attacked at knifepoint in Wilderness at about midday yesterday while hiking on the beach in the Sandhoogte area.

Jacques Pratt, editor of the online community paper Wild News, interviewed the couple after their ordeal.

"They were hiking the Pied Kingfisher trail and finished about three quarters of the trail when they were approached by two attackers on Wilderness Beach at Sandhoogte," said Pratt.

The couple is unharmed, but when asked if they will ever visit Wilderness again, they responded, "A big no. Never SA again. This was our first, but also our last, negative experience here."

According to Captain Malcolm Pojie, Southern Cape Police spokesperson, they were robbed of two iPhones, a Samsung cellphone, jewellery, R2 500 in cash and a Sony camera.

"The suspects are still at large," said Pojie.
