#ATTACK: 40 year-old survives shooting at home on Saturday at 4am

The 40-year-old owner was asleep in his house when he heard an alarm going off.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, says the man woke up to the sounds of an alarm but fell asleep again.

The man reportedly woke up a second time to the sound of dogs barking and two gunshots, but fell asleep again.

At 4am he woke up again this time to the sound of voices and glass breaking.

Ramphora says the man went to investigate and as he entered the lounge, he heard two more shots fired somewhere in his house and saw two armed men inside his home.

The man screamed and the two robbers left the house.

According to Ramphora the man claims that when he peeped through the window, the two robbers pointed their guns at him and threatened to shoot him if he followed them.

It was when the man checked to see if anything was missing from the house, that he realized the TV, a cellphone and two cellphone chargers were gone.

Ramphora says the man found two fired cartridges in the house and bullet marks against a wall.

The total value of the stolen goods is R14 000.

No one was injured.

A case of house robbery was opened at the police station. http://springsadvertiser.co.za/136021/robbers-threaten-house-owner/
