Further investigation into the man’s house led police to the discovery of used cartridges of a high calibre rifle in a plastic bag as well as a part of a mortar.
"When the police arrived‚ they found the alleged grenade hidden under a tree. Then police proceeded to the man’s house. Upon searching it‚ police found used cartridges of a high calibre rifle in a plastic bag as well as a part of a mortar‚" the SAPS said in a statement.
The 51-year-old man‚ from Setabeng Village of Morokweng‚ will appear at the Ganyesa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on charges of possession of ammunition and explosives without a licence.
