Drama in Boruchowitz court case

The father of a young man beaten, stabbed and killed outside Ty’s nightclub in the east of Pretoria was detained in a court cell in Pretoria on Monday.

Colin Boruchowitz allegedly took photos in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court of Okwuchukwu Joshua Nwairo, the man accused of killing his 23-year-old son Shane.

This was revealed by Gene Kotton, a private investigator hired by the Boruchowitz family to assist the police investigation.

Kotton said Colin spent the rest of Monday’s court proceedings in a cell for taking photos of Nwairo and his friends after claiming the friends had intimidated him.

“Unfortunately Mr Boruchowitz did not know that it was illegal to take photos during the trial,” said Kotton.

Shane was killed in a scuffle with the black bouncers outside Ty’s nightclub on Thursday 24 September.

Shane died of severe head trauma suffered when he fell during the assault.

Nwairo, who has been charged with murder, will be back in court on Friday.
