#ATTACK: Attack on DA councillor was carefully planned by her black domestic worker

“Shoot her five times – she is tough”

A domestic worker had told her accomplices her “boss” was a tough lady and they had to shoot her five times in the chest as one shot would not kill her.

A house robbery and murder of a well-known DA-councillor from the north of Pretoria had been planned, but a tip-off from the domestic worker warned her accomplices not to go ahead as the councillor would not be home.

The domestic worker, who is still in custody and will be appearing in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court this week, had allegedly been conspiring for the past year with at least two accomplices to steal the councillor’s identity and ultimately kill her.

This well-known councillor, who requested to remain anonymous as her life and her family’s were in danger, said the domestic worker had been employed by them for the past three years. “I treated her like family. I trusted her with my life.”

A story of greed, lies and betrayal had unfolded this week as the councillor realised her domestic worker had stolen her identity document, bank statements and bullets. The bullets were going to be used to shoot the councillor.

“I could not believe that she wanted to use my own bullets to shoot me.”

According to the councillor, she received a call from a mortuary owner last week telling her that her domestic worker’s mother had died.

“I saved the number for later reference,” she said.

The councillor said she received a call from the same mortuary owner two weeks ago, informing her that her life partner’s laptop had been stolen and that the domestic worker had tried to sell it to him.

“She forgot to steal the charger and the so-called mortuary owner told her he will keep it for her. He wanted a reward. I asked him to tell me everything.”

In the early hours of last Monday morning the councillor, accompanied by two police offers from the Wonderboompoort police station, went to the domestic worker’s house in a KwaMhlanga township, Mpumalanga.

The police had found fake identity documents, counterfeit money worth thousands of Rands, bank statements and the councillor’s salary slips.

It is not known whether the domestic worker had opened accounts in the councillor’s name yet. She was taken into custody for identity theft but as the investigation continues more complaints could be lodged.

Meanwhile the councillor had changed all her locks because the domestic worker allegedly told local shebeen customers about the layout of the house and what they could find there.

Wonderboompoort police confirmed the arrest, but could not give further details.
