#ATTACK: Two Afrikaner men were attacked & stabbed by four black attackers inside Rowallan Park home at the weekend

The attackers, who stabbed both men, ransacked the house after spending more than two hours tormenting 34-year-old tenant Shaun Swartz.

At the time, the owner of the house Petrus Fourie, 58, was not at home.

Swartz was stabbed in the leg and assaulted during the attack while Fourie, who arrived home at about 2am on Saturday, was also beaten and stabbed in the Latrobe Street house.

By yesterday morning, both Fourie and Swartz had been discharged from hospital but were not at home when The Herald went to their house at midday.

“One of them was here in the morning to feed the dog and then left,” a neighbour, who did not want to be named, said.

None of the neighbours heard anything during the attack.

Police spokesman Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said the four knife-wielding attackers gained entry through a back sliding door – which borders an area of veld near the St Albans area.

“Swartz rents a room at the house and was alone at home at the time. Shortly after midnight on Saturday, he [Swartz] woke to dogs barking and went to investigate.”

He was confronted by four men and stabbed in the leg.

“The suspects then dragged him into the kitchen where they threatened to kill him while demanding that he open the safe.

“They then took him into a room where they tied him up and covered him with blankets. They beat him the whole time.”

Janse van Rensburg said the attackers then ransacked the house for about two hours, before Fourie returned home.
